Tax Controversy Lead

As a Tax Controversy Lead, you will play a key role in managing tax audits and investigations, advising clients on dispute resolution strategies, and preparing submissions for tax rulings and appeals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage tax audits and investigations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advise clients on tax dispute resolution strategies, including negotiation and litigation.
  • Prepare and review submissions for tax rulings, appeals, and litigation, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the tax advisory team to identify and mitigate tax risks, providing strategic advice to clients.
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and case law, applying this knowledge to provide expert guidance to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, tax authorities, and other stakeholders, fostering trust and cooperation.
Qualifications:
  • A professional tax qualification (AITI/CTA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax controversy, tax audit, or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax law and practice, with expertise in tax planning and structuring.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results-driven solutions.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional client service, with a focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team, with a focus on mentoring and coaching junior staff.
