The role of Planning Team Lead involves overseeing a high-performing team of planning professionals to deliver top-notch planning advice and services for various projects. This includes managing planning applications, environmental assessments, stakeholder engagement, and compliance processes to ensure timely delivery, within scope, and to the highest professional standards.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners to create a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversight of resource allocation, workload planning, and project prioritisation within the planning team.
- Technical oversight and quality assurance on all planning deliverables.
- Manage preparation and submission of planning applications, EIAs, and related documentation.
- Oversee planning input into renewable energy, infrastructure, and development projects from feasibility to consent stages.
- Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders for project approvals.
- Contribute to business development by participating in bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy for compliance and strategic advice.
- Contribution to company-wide initiatives on sustainability, innovation, and operational improvement.
- Relevant degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
- Chartered membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in professional planning, including team management.
- Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation, policy, and environmental assessment processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working on renewable energy, infrastructure, or environmental projects.
- Experience across urban and rural planning contexts.
- Familiarity with cross-border planning considerations in Ireland/UK.
