Job Title: Data Compliance Specialist
A leading law firm in Ireland is seeking an experienced data privacy professional to oversee all aspects of data protection and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with legal teams and business support functions to ensure internal and client-facing operations comply with GDPR, Irish Data Protection Acts, and wider international frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage data protection policies, DSARs, and retention projects.
- Review DPAs, privacy notices, and contractual clauses.
- Support responses to security queries, regulatory investigations, and data breaches.
- Conduct DPIAs and maintain the firm's ROPA.
- Deliver tailored privacy training and promote privacy-by-design principles.
- Act as the firm's contact with the Data Protection Commission, monitoring regulatory developments, and advising stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a third-level qualification in law or a related field, with at least 2-3 years' experience in data privacy and protection. A strong background in compliance frameworks, professional certification (CIPP/E, CIPM), excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills are also desirable.
