Electrical Protection and Controls Engineer

You will play a pivotal role in designing resilient power solutions that support millions of customers worldwide. As an Electrical Protection and Controls Engineer, you'll craft cutting-edge electrical systems that power Amazon's expanding technological ecosystem, creating infrastructure that drives global connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create comprehensive specifications for protection, automation, control, and monitoring solutions.
  • Develop and review protection and control requirements for new and modified substations.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including protection line diagrams and relay setting calculations.
  • Evaluate and manage specialist consulting services and vendor relationships.
  • Support multi-disciplinary project teams in identifying engineering risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Protection and Controls Engineer experience of 5+ years with power systems, electrical substations up to 245kV.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes and standards (BSEN, IEC, CIGRE, IEEE).
  • Proficient in developing and analyzing protection & Control strategy studies.
  • Expertise in protection relay technologies and digital solutions.
