Overview

Senior Electrical Design Engineer role in Dublin with a leading Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Consultancy. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years' experience to join a leading Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Consultancy. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical systems design for commercial and residential building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for commercial and residential buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and control systems.
  • Produce detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications in line with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors to ensure integrated and compliant electrical designs.
  • Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection for power and HVAC systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (IEC, BS, EN) and client specifications.
  • Support project stages from concept through to construction documentation and commissioning.
  • Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Use Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software for electrical design development and coordination.
  • Utilise Dialux and Amtech for lighting design and electrical calculations.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years' experience in electrical design engineering within a building services consultancy environment.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and control systems in building services.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Dialux, and Amtech.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in design teams.
  • Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
