Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Datacentre Infrastructure Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our data centre infrastructure.

• Data center electrical designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create a construction document set.
• Participating in site selection reviews and site planning activities.
• Critical Data Center equipment design including Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, MV Switchgear, LV Switchgear, MV:LV Transformers, Earthing. Life Safety and Fire Detection systems.
• Design and collaborate with other disciplines to create a construction document set.
• Creating of designs which meet or exceed quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements.
• Working with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment.
• Working with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements.
• Working with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with regulations and building codes.
• Reviewing and approval of equipment submittals.
• Defining project scope and providing technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
• Working with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
• Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Traveling to sites for site review and working with onsite field engineers, as well as providing engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed.

About This Role

This is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise in electrical design and project management. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects that meet the needs of our data centres.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are coordinated and executed efficiently. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in data centre design and project management. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in data centre design and project management.
• Strong understanding of European Electrical Codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership and project management skills.
