Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Consultancy - Dublin WestOffice Location: Dublin WestEmployment Type: PermanentWork Location: Office basedPay: €80,000 - €100,000Experience: 10+ years consultancy experience in IrelandVisa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa requiredOur Client are an Irish engineering design consultancy, that specializes in Mechanical, Electrical and Process engineering on both large and small industrial projects in the power generation, data centre, industrial and food & beverage industries in both Ireland and Europe.DescriptionWork directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and developtechnical solutions. Act as either electrical lead or project lead on projects coordinating all elements of design and interaction with clients and other design team membersRepresent at senior level in client discussions, tender negotiations and workshopsManage a team of engineers and ensure deliverables are achieved on time and to the required qualityDevelopment of specifications, scope of works documents, tender packs, cable calcs, wiring diagrams, schematics, loop sheets and other electrical deliverablesMV & LV electrical design, including MCCs, distribution boards, cable systems utilising SKM and Amtech software packagesParticipate in constructability and safety reviews.Participate in project site visits to survey, monitor, review and sign-off upon electrical installations when required.Design electrical services packages in AutoCAD & Revit where applicableAttend and participate in client and APM team meetingsEnsure that department / individual training needs are met.RequirementsThird Level Degree in Electrical Engineering required with Chartership preferred10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design and deliveryExpert knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM/RevitFamiliarity with SKM (PTW) and Trimble / Amtech electrical design software preferable.Proficiency in MS Word and ExcelKnowledge & experience of CIBSE and Ashrae Design Guides, Building Regs, EN Standardsand IEC Standards. Proven experience in electrical engineering design services, particularly in MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lightning protection, earthing & bonding, and controlsystem networkingKnowledge and experience of applicable electrical engineering codes and standards.Experience of developing electrical protection systems, electrical discrimination, short circuit studies and arc-flash analysis reports.The ability to find alternate solutions including value-engineering and to implement new technologies where required.Professional approach and demeanour requiredOrganised, structured and disciplined approach to achieve project deliverables.PackageVery competitive salary package, 80k - 100k depending on level of experienceHealth care packageEmployer Pension contributionsWorking closely with senior Directors on large scale industrial projects in Ireland andEurope as part of multi-disciplinary design teamsOpportunity to progress your career and to grow the departmentA modern progressive workplace with flexible working hours and a standard 37.5 hourwork week
