Short-Term Counselling Opportunities

We are seeking qualified and experienced counsellors to provide short-term counselling in primary care settings.

The Counselling in Primary Care (CIPC) service is a vital part of the HSE National Counselling Service, providing support to medical card holders aged 18 years and over.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • A recognised Level 7 qualification in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent experience in health and social care.
  • Additionally, applicants must have one of the following:
  1. Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, or psychology, recognised by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), or the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
  2. Have full accredited membership with IACP, IABCP, or a relevant body within ICP.
  3. Hold a post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by PSI.
  4. Commenced registration process with PSI or fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.

Applicants must also possess a minimum of two years' relevant post-qualification experience. A selection process will apply.
