Lead Environmental Scientist

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Environmental Consultant to join our senior team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will lead high-profile environmental assessments, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff.

About the Role:

  • Lead and manage large-scale environmental projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA), and other complex environmental projects.
  • Provide technical oversight and direction to teams, ensuring technical excellence and driving sustainable practices in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Prepare and review environmental reports, including scoping and baseline assessments, impact evaluations, and mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles, ensuring compliance with relevant Irish and EU environmental legislation.
  • Mentor, train, and support the professional development of junior team members, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and regulatory meetings.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in environmental science or a related discipline, preferably with a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading complex environmental assessments and project management, with strong knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with Chartered status (e.g. CEnv, MCIWEM, MIEMA) highly desirable.
  • Experience working with public sector bodies, planning authorities, or infrastructure developers is an advantage.
