We are seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the growth of our business, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services.
- Oversight of individual contracts to ensure delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services.
- Specialist ecological input across various projects.
- Planning, conducting, and supervising ecological surveys and fieldwork activities.
- Preparation and oversight of implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
- Leadership in preparation of Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirements.
- Production of high-quality technical reports and project deliverables.
- Quality control across all project outputs, focusing on detail, accuracy, timely delivery, and continuous improvement within the Ecology Team.
- Action as an expert witness at Oral Hearings when required.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and participation in client and design team meetings as necessary.
- Degree in ecology or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' postgraduate experience in environmental consultancy.
- Member of CIEEM, CIWEM, or comparable professional body.
- Proven experience serving as an expert witness and participating in oral hearings.
- In-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
- Strong technical report writing capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and overseeing implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
- Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Full, clean driving license.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience and be able to demonstrate expertise in ecological consultancy services. They will also possess excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
