Executive Chef Assistant

About the Role:

The Sous Chef position is ideal for a driven culinary professional looking to develop their leadership skills and contribute to a creative, quality-focused kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen operations.
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff during service and in prep work.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes across all areas.
  • Help manage stock levels, ordering, and food cost control.
  • Assist in creating new menu items and daily specials.
  • Enforce food safety, cleanliness, and HACCP compliance.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and efficient kitchen culture.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a high-quality kitchen environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced service.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen operations principles.
  • Creative approach to menu development and food presentation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across various shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Must be living in Ireland and have the right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
