We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in an exciting opportunity to provide specialist assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.

As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in supporting patients with complex needs, often within high-acuity presentations. You will be responsible for leading on the development and implementation of evidence-based practices, supervising staff-grade therapists, and working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced clinical assessment and management of adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders.
  • Support service delivery across acute wards, including stroke, respiratory, medical, surgical, and critical care units.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of evidence-based SLT practices, ensuring seamless integration into existing service models.
  • Supervise and support staff-grade therapists and students, providing guidance and mentorship in clinical practice.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Essential Criteria:
  • A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy from a reputable institution.
  • Current registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience, with at least 2 years in adult services, demonstrating expertise in dysphagia and communication management.
  • Proven ability to lead and contribute to service development initiatives, driving quality improvement and excellence in practice.
