Principal Automotive AI Software Designer
4 days ago
**Job Overview:**
We're advancing our cutting-edge AI technology into the automotive sector, aiming to fuel the AI-defined vehicle.
This role involves leading the design of a new software stack for Arm's AI accelerators to enable automotive applications, collaborating with cross-site teams across worldwide engineering centers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Define and evolve an overall technical strategy for integrating hardware-accelerated neural networks into functionally safe real-time applications.
- Stay up-to-date with industry practices and software, working with partners and building professional networks.
- Apply this knowledge by guiding the technical direction of relevant engineering teams.
- Enable developers to use leading frameworks like PyTorch to train and validate neural networks for Arm's accelerators.
- Design software tooling to optimize such neural networks and deploy them to Arm's hardware.
- Design a corresponding runtime execution environment suitable for use in real-time and safety-critical applications.
**Requirements:**
- Knowledge and experience developing software for safety-critical applications, following formal safety processes and analysis defined in ISO standards.
- Experience in GPU, NPU, or accelerator driver architecture and development, particularly with memory management and execution synchronization.
- C/C++ software development background and experience with embedded platforms and OSes like Integrity, QNX, or VxWorks.
- Deep knowledge of computer system fundamentals, with an inquiring mind and keenness to learn.
- Experience of requirements analysis, software architecture definition, and documentation.
- Strong personal skills and comfort working in a highly collaborative way, influencing rather than directing others.
**What We Offer:**
In return, you'll have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, learn from experienced colleagues, and enjoy a healthy work-life balance. We also offer flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours contracts for the right candidate.
