We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to join our team at University Hospital Waterford. As a key member of our respiratory services, you will play a vital role in coordinating care for patients with lung cancer.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented nurse leader to take on a challenging and rewarding role. You will be responsible for managing patient care, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality treatment and support throughout their journey. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate referrals, develop care plans, and provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care Management: Ensure patients receive high-quality treatment and support throughout their journey
- Referral Coordination: Coordinate referrals from general practitioners, radiology, emergency departments, and medical and surgical teams
- Care Plan Development: Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Nursing Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and best practice
- Service User Engagement: Collaborate with service users, families, and carers to provide education and support
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A relevant nursing qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Proven experience as a clinical nurse manager or similar role
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A strong understanding of lung cancer care and current best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
