We are currently seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic for our clients in County Clare.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in diagnosing, servicing and repairing outboard and inboard marine engines and related mechanical systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Services: Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, outboard motors and inboard propulsion systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Inspect, diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on vessels in accordance with safety and maritime standards.
  • Engine Overhaul and Maintenance: Conduct engine overhauls, cooling system flushes and fuel system servicing to maintain the integrity of the vessel's propulsion system.
  • Installation and Testing: Install and test new mechanical components, propellers and related marine equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed service records, parts inventories and inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with ship crews, supervisors and other technicians to plan and prioritize work, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Education: A Marine Engineering or Mechanical diploma/certificate is highly regarded.
  • Training and Certification: Diesel engine and outboard motor training is essential. Manufacturer certifications are also highly valued.
  • Skills: Basic welding and electrical skills are necessary for this role.
