Job Role Overview

The Fire Safety Engineer will be responsible for delivering fire safety engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement fire safety strategies from concept through to completion.
  • Prepare and submit Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) applications in line with Irish building regulations.
  • Support or lead on Disability Access Certificate (DAC) applications, with training provided if required.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments, audits, and inspections of new and existing buildings.
  • Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
  • Review and approve fire safety designs, drawings, and material submittals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Undertake site inspections and reporting under BC(A)R 2014.
  • Liaise with statutory authorities and stakeholders as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety Engineering or an equivalent related discipline; MSc preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in fire engineering within the Irish construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish fire safety legislation, codes, and standards.
  • Experience in Disability Access Certificate (DAC) applications, or willingness to upskill.
  • Proficiency in fire modelling and risk assessment tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.

  • Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and commitment to high-quality project delivery.
