Maintenance Manager - A Leadership Role in Optimizing Equipment Performance

This role involves overseeing all maintenance activities across the site, ensuring optimal performance of equipment and tooling in alignment with production demands.

  1. Prioritize maintenance and repairs of company equipment and tooling in conjunction with production requirements.
  2. Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate spare parts for critical equipment.
  3. Nominate, supervise and coordinate sub-contractors for work relating to maintenance.
  4. Communicate and liaise with sub-contractors, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with their contracts.
  5. Sign-off and verification of completion of sub-contractors' work.
  6. Supervise all employees within the department, monitoring performance and quality of workmanship as well as dealing with any HR issues that may arise.
  7. Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role, strong people management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material costs combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
  • Stay current and up-to-date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of products and materials needed and advise others of any impact.
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
