Lead Bridge Engineer Role

This exciting role presents an opportunity to lead and manage a local team of bridge engineering professionals. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for driving business development, managing tender bids, and conducting resource planning to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate will possess a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, along with at least 15 years of experience as a Bridge/Senior Bridge Engineer, including 10 years on Irish projects post-graduation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead and manage a local team of bridge engineering professionals.
    • Drive business development and manage tender bids for professional services contracts.
    • Conduct short, medium, and long-term resource planning to ensure project success.
    • Provide design input and oversee the delivery of structural aspects of projects.
    • Manage medium and large-sized projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are delivered.
    • Effectively communicate with internal and external parties, including clients and stakeholders.
    • Mentor and develop junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 15 years experience as Bridge/Senior Bridge Engineer, with 10 years on Irish projects post-graduation.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking, with flexible approach.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from technical perspective.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with excellent communication skills.
  • Previous staff management experience.
  • Proactive approach with track record of delivering high-quality services to clients in public and private sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation.
  • Proficient in Eurocodes and structural analysis software.
  • Experience in design and refurbishment of concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
  • Proven experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ireland/UK experience.
