Job Overview

The Salthill Hotel is seeking a skilled Breakfast Chef to join their team. This dynamic individual will work closely with the Head chef and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation of the breakfast service on a daily basis.

As an ideal candidate, you will possess experience in a busy kitchen environment and demonstrate attention to detail regarding presentation of buffets and plated dishes. You will be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Breakfast Chef to grow professionally in a fun, energetic, and vibrant hotel environment.

A competitive salary will be offered based on your level of experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen meets Food Hygiene Regulations and maintain food preparation and production standards for customer satisfaction.
  • Report for duty punctually and arrive in the correct uniform.
  • Prepare and produce food for assigned areas according to agreed-upon standards in collaboration with other chefs.
  • Manage the smooth operation of the breakfast service daily.
  • Monitor waste consistently and recommend countermeasures available to the breakfast service.
  • Maintain exceptional standards in food preparation and production.
  • Develop effective working relationships outside the direct kitchen team.
  • Minimize waste.
  • Adhere to strict hygiene regulations.
  • Implement our Customer Relations Policy.
  • Meet guests' needs and requirements.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Exercise caution for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues, guests, and others on premises.
  • Participate in fire drills.
  • Report and address incidents and accidents when possible.
  • Adhere to high levels of personal hygiene throughout the duty shift.
  • Comply with company policy regarding Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care, and Security.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to responsibilities as defined in the Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
  • Attend training courses notified by management.
Requirements
  • Experience of 1-2 years in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
  • Excellent timekeeping skills and awareness of responsibility for opening the kitchen each morning.
  • Keen eye for buffet and plated dish presentation.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Flexibility.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capacity to work under pressure.
  • Experience in Stock Control Procedures.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to organize and work independently.
