Senior Accounting Professional

A leading organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Professional to oversee their accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintaining entries, reconciliations, and journal postings.
  • Monthly Management Accounts: Preparing accounts, accruals, prepayments, variance analysis (actual vs target), and KPIs like debtors, creditors, and stock.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Supporting preparation of budgets and forecasts, and assisting with scenario planning-such as capacity or spend adjustments.
  • Report Validation: Reviewing dashboards, KPI reports, and ensuring report output accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting assistants.
  • Credit Control & AR: Ensuring timely collections while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Quote & Pricing Updates: Keeping our pricing records current.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Supporting systems implementation and recommending enhancements.
  • External Liaison: Collaborating with external accountants for year-end statements.
  • Internal Register Maintenance: Managing fixed asset logs, supplier contracts, rebates, and more.

Requirements:

  • Part-Qualified Accountant, ideally through CIMA, or with similar experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, especially with large datasets.
  • Comfortable using accounting systems-QuickBooks preferred, but others are welcome.
  • Naturally curious, eager to understand how our business operates, and proactive in finding process improvements.
  • Communicates clearly, works methodically, and partners well across the team.
