Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Drug Substance Proteins Operating Unit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

This is an opportunity for experienced professionals who want to drive innovation, resolve complex challenges, and influence cross-functional success.

You will lead with expertise, owning and resolving complex technical issues, leading deviation investigations, and implementing effective CAPAs that ensure robust, compliant manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical Investigations: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement.
  • Process Optimisation: Provide deep technical insight into upstream and downstream processes, supporting troubleshooting, training, and process optimisation.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Identify and lead process and equipment improvements, from concept through to funding and implementation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, MSAT, Quality, Engineering, and Technical Services to ensure seamless execution and continuous improvement.
  • Project Leadership: Manage short-duration technical projects, ensuring delivery on scope, cost, and schedule while navigating technical challenges.

Requirements:

  • Education and Qualifications: A degree in Science or Engineering (Chemical/Biological focus preferred); equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: 5+ years of cGMP experience in biopharma manufacturing, technical operations, or engineering.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of upstream cell culture and downstream purification. Proficiency with digital tools such as eQMS, MCS, PI, LIMS, and AMPS.
  • Licensing and Certification: Method One certification and experience with process monitoring systems and automated control systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
