Experienced Senior Credit Manager

Credit Controllers play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of organizations by ensuring timely collection of payments and minimizing bad debt exposure. A Senior Credit Controller is responsible for managing and monitoring credit accounts, reviewing credit applications, and conducting thorough credit checks on new customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring outstanding balances to ensure prompt collection of overdue payments.
- Reviewing credit applications and assessing credit risk to determine suitable credit limits.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
In addition to these core duties, Senior Credit Controllers may be required to:
- Chase outstanding debts through various communication channels.
- Negotiate payment plans with customers experiencing financial difficulties.
- Collaborate with legal teams to escalate overdue accounts to legal action when necessary.
- Ensure collections align with company policies and payment terms.
To excel in this role, candidates typically require:
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Debt Collector, or in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of credit management and collection procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult conversations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
