Job Title: Senior Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of control systems in various industries.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for specifying and procuring process & BMS field instrumentation, developing I/O lists and instrument indexes, designing control systems, schematics, and drawings in the process, biopharma, datacentres, and building services industries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing instrument datasheets from concept through procurement
  • Participating in HAZOPs, ATEX reviews, SIL assessments, and Interlock reviews
  • Reviewing and inputting into P&IDs
  • Developing Functional Specifications (FS) and User Requirements Specifications (URS) when required
  • Developing system architecture for new Control Systems
  • Working with automation contractors in developing solutions/systems
  • GAMP5 lifecycle and 21CFR Part 11 Compliance
  • Establishing automation and controls systems scope of work
  • Site work, dealing with clients/electrical contractors
  • Attendance at site meetings, construction, and commissioning support
  • Estimating values of both completed works and where required approximate values of any additional works
  • Snag list preparation (of installed works)
  • Working with, leading, and coaching younger engineers and co-workers
  • Adhering to quality standards and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working with bus technology - Fieldbus, Profibus, Devicenet, Ethernet IP, etc., and familiarity with DCS/PCS, BMS, and PLC systems
  • Being fully conversant with current Irish Regulations e.g. ET-101:2008 (National Rules for Electrical Installations)
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A third-level degree in a relevant I&C Engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 5-7 years' relevant experience, ideally in an organisation involved in delivering industrial projects
  • The ability to work with automation contractors in developing solutions/systems
  • Proactive skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional design team
