Occupational Health and Safety Advisor Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Advisor. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust OHS Management Systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on OHS matters to project teams, fostering a culture of safety and well-being
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive and proactive approach to health and safety at all times
  • Develop, review, and maintain project-specific OHS Plans, Risk Assessments, and related documents to ensure seamless execution
  • Conduct thorough audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement, recommending evidence-based solutions
  • Monitor and report on OHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), trends, and risks, providing actionable insights to drive improvement
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in OHS, preferably in the construction industry or a similar sector (electrical, mechanical, and CSA preferred)
  • Diploma in Occupational H&S (NFQ 8) and Certificate in Environmental Management (NFQ 6) are essential
  • Relevant certifications include Safe Pass, CSCS, Train the Trainer, First Aid, ISO14000 & ISO45000 internal auditor
  • Solid understanding of Construction Regulations, CDM roles, and OHS Management Systems is required
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation - are vital for success in this role
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality OHS reports is essential
