Fund Accounting Manager Role

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to fill this key position in Cork. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in fund accounting within the financial services industry, with a solid understanding of its challenges and trends.

  • Deliver expertise in fund accounting on projects and engagements, including supplementing fund accounting teams, supporting system migration efforts, and taking on new funds within clients' environments.
  • Assist with production and reviews of NAV calculations and related processes as required by client engagements.
  • Improve clients' NAV production and fund administration-related processes through reduced timelines, enhanced controls, or additional management information.
  • Introduce new or improved management information using BI tools or KPIs.
  • Reconcile Prime Broker, Custodian, or Counterparty data to clients' fund administration systems with detailed analysis and break resolution.
  • Support and mentor junior staff members to enhance technical and soft skills within the team.
  • Develop materials for clients' benefit, including process documents, project-related materials, reconciliation templates, etc.
  • Act as an SME in areas of prior experience to enhance client delivery.

This is a technical role requiring a deep understanding of fund accounting and general fund administration functions within the asset management sector.

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A deep knowledge of the financial services/asset management industry either directly or through practice.
  • An appropriate professional qualification, which may be based in accounting or another discipline.
  • Specific experience of being part of large-scale projects in a multinational environment.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in fund accounting, with time spent within a consulting firm or a top-tier fund administrator/asset manager.
  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work within and lead junior staff.
  • The ability to work towards a deadline within a project framework.
  • A strong communicator, highly articulate with good report writing and excel skills.
  • A mature and confident person with excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills, to mentor junior staff and impart technical knowledge.
