Highways Project Engineer Role

To shape a better world, we require collaboration, creativity, and a passion for transport infrastructure. We seek a skilled Project Engineer to join our Roads team in Ireland.

The Opportunity Overview

We are looking for someone with experience in planning and design of road schemes, including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contact administration, and construction supervision.

As a Highways Project Engineer, you will prepare technical designs for projects in accordance with approved design standards and procedures, undertake research to inform updates to existing and the development of new national design standards and policy, ensure that relevant legislation is interpreted and followed, and communicate effectively with a broad cross-section of individuals.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering or a similar field
  • 3-5 years postgraduate experience, preferably in a consultancy environment
  • Working towards chartered professional status
  • Technical report writing
  • Experience in geometric design, drainage design, and traffic signs and road markings
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcMap GIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
