Senior Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

- Developing and implementing site-specific health & safety plans to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspection results, audits, and corrective actions taken to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Providing ongoing training and support to staff and subcontractors on health and safety protocols, best practices, and industry standards.
- Investigating incidents, conducting root cause analyses, and recommending measures to prevent reoccurrences.
- Collaborating with site managers, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on health and safety matters.
- Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and certified for safe operation.
- Monitoring and enforcing adherence to health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation.
- An accredited degree or diploma in occupational health and safety or a related field (recognised by the relevant authorities).
- Proven experience as a health and safety professional in the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor on residential developments.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
- Minimum 5 years' experience required.
Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and provide expert advice on health and safety matters.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and demonstrate a commitment to upholding the highest standards of health and safety.
