Job Description

Munster Technological University is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Safety Research Assistant to join its team. As a research assistant, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the Cyber Safety Research Team and assist in user studies to understand how users interact with digital products and services.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Contribute to the design of cyber safety guidance and tools to improve the cyber safety of vulnerable populations
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform research findings and solutions
• Assist in the development of solutions for identified user needs and test them iteratively in collaboration with stakeholders
• Attend weekly team meetings and provide updates on progress

To be successful in this role, you should have an appropriate third-level qualification at QQI level 8 honours degree or equivalent, experience working with vulnerable populations, and existing cybersecurity or user design knowledge. You should also have strong intrapersonal skills and be fluent in spoken and written English.

This is a part-time position based in the MTU Cork Campus (Bishopstown) and is available for 14 hours per week up to 17th April 2026. The salary scale is €32,962 - €42,943 per annum pro rata.
