Project Manager Lead Developer

We are seeking an experienced project manager and lead developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering complex IT projects while driving a collaborative engaged team culture and building strong working partnerships with all business partners.

You will lead, and manage the performance, of an IT development team within the Programme Delivery function. The Programme Delivery function is responsible for the IT delivery of strategic initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities will include facilitating agile ceremonies, coaching the team on agile principles and scrum practices, identifying and removing impediments to team progress, fostering a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning, and tracking, improving and sharing team metrics.

Additionally, you will provide direct line management to team members, including performance reviews, career development planning, and regular 1:1s, support employee growth through mentoring, training opportunities, departmental and organisational initiatives, and feedback, promote team wellbeing and inclusion, address interpersonal dynamics and morale, align individual goals with team, departmental and organisational objectives, own end-to-end delivery of key initiatives, ensure scope, timeline, and quality targets are met, manage risks, dependencies, and resource allocation across the team, engage with stakeholders to define requirements, manage expectations, and report progress, drive delivery planning, forecasting, and prioritisation in partnership with product owners, and provide regular progress reports and updates to senior and executive management and project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a significant number of years IT experience, including leadership experience, a strong blend of technical ability, demonstrated success in planning and delivering complex projects, a deep understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, a relevant 3rd level qualification in Information Technology or related area, exceptional Communication and Influencing skills, Motivational Leadership style, Visionary and strategic thinker, Team player, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent agile certification, Working knowledge of key systems, Experience managing direct reports, including performance and development conversations.
