Healthcare Assistants play a vital role in enabling individuals to achieve maximum independence in daily living. We are seeking committed and caring professionals to join our team in the Galway, Connemara area.

About the Role

This position involves providing assistance with personal care, domestic assistance, social and educational assistance, travel and companionship to members in their homes and communities.

The purpose of this role is to support members in achieving their goals and improving their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist members with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Provide domestic assistance including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Offer social and educational assistance including companionship, education, and leisure activities.
  • Travel with members to appointments and engagements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 modules completed of the Major Award at QQI Level 5 in either Community Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support.
  • Experience of working with people in a caring role.
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English.
  • Access to your own car and full driving licence.
  • Willingsness to drive member's vehicle.
Benefits
  • A 9.25% pay increase over two years.
  • Pay rate: Sunday - €23.00 per hour, Public Holidays - €30.80 per hour.
