Job Title:

A structural engineer with expertise in designing and developing data centre infrastructure is required to lead our design team.

This role involves working closely with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing external design consultants through the design and construction process ensuring high standards of deliverables are met on schedule.

About the Role:

  • Design Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain basis of design, prototype design and template specifications for one of civil, structural or architectural disciplines;
  2. Prepare conceptual site master plan designs based on information available from due diligence site assessments
  3. Establish capital project budgets for existing region and new region deployment;
  4. Collaborate with finance teams to prepare funding applications and secure funding
  5. Develop design and permitting schedule for the project based on standard design periods and local permitting requirements
  6. Partner with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables
  7. Manage input of internal structural, architectural and civil engineers during design and at design deliverable review
  8. Coordinate input of permitting lead
  9. Coordinate with internal and external mechanical, electrical, controls, fire and cabling design engineers;
  10. Influence and manage deviations to reference design based on localization and site specific needs
  11. Create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction;
Team Collaboration:
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations and construction to ensure successful project delivery
  2. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and goals
Metrics and Reporting:
  1. Collect and analyze data related to cost, quality and duration of design
  2. Track and report metrics related to design performance and process improvements
