Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to fill this role. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automation scripts using open source tools (Jest, Cypress.io, and XCUI).

About the Role

This role aims to identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve code quality and user experience through automation. You will have experience working with teams of engineers as an Automation Engineer and leading automation initiatives; you are detail-oriented, understand application development methodologies, and want to apply your technical skills to build out automated test systems and deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into detailed, comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases. Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate quality testing activities.
  • Decompose the system to test services and existing functionality in isolation and perform more extensive end-to-end tests.
  • Develop and improve our test automation frameworks by leveraging cloud infrastructure and implementing the necessary CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve deployment approval processes to allow automated testing and deployments to testing, pre-production and production environments; create and help improve these environments.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to review quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful risk assessment and feedback.
  • Ensure detailed reporting to assess product quality to project stakeholders and track QA metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
Required Skills
  • Experience with App Test Automation is a plus (XCUI framework).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication (AMQP, RabbitMQ), preferably in a microservices environment.
  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions, and integrating automated testing in the pipeline is a plus.
  • Good understanding and experience with cloud and containerization principles is a plus (Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot problems and identify improvements; experience with logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, Loggly, SignalFX, New Relic, Datadog).
Benefits and Perks
