**Clinical Nurse Manager I: Role Overview**
Clinical Nurse Manager I is a leadership position responsible for the education and development of nursing staff. This role involves in-service training, orientation of new staff, and arranging clinical experience and supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide orientation and supervision for new nursing staff to ensure they understand policies and procedures.
- Identify training needs of the nursing team and provide guidance and support where necessary.
- Encourage evidence-based practice using a care planning approach to nursing care.
- Monitor and evaluate the care given by the nursing team.
Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse with The Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register.
- 3 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the last 5 years.
- Demonstrate management/in-charge experience within the last year.
Job Requirements:
- Foundation course in gerontology or equivalent.
- Msc in Gerontological Nursing or a commitment to undertake same.
- Experience in teaching and assessing the nursing team.
