As a Trainee Pricing Actuary, you will develop your actuarial career through exposure to pricing, forecasting, and trading performance activities. Your role involves supporting the Trading & Performance Manager and collaborating with colleagues across Pricing, Underwriting and Finance to influence business decisions and drive performance.

Duties:
  • Monitoring trading performance, analysing trends in risk mix, volumes, and profitability
  • Delivering actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders using findings from data analysis
  • Supporting quarterly valuation mix inputs through data preparation, validation, and analysis to inform actuarial models
  • Assisting with quarterly forecasting by refining trading models, ensuring assumptions and outputs are aligned with business plans
  • Contributing to ad-hoc pricing and trading projects, supporting initiatives to improve performance and profitability
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in General Insurance Pricing, ideally in Motor or Home
  • Part-qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent) and progressing with exams
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Curious mindset with ability to explain the story behind the numbers
  • Experience with SQL is desirable; familiarity with Radar or Emblem is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills to present findings and influence stakeholders
