Job Description

Under the leadership of the Manager Patient Care/ Director Patient Care, we have shift-related fiscal, clinical, and operational accountability.

We are responsible for a direct care unit or units within Northwell Health. Our role is influential in supporting a professional environment and fostering a culture where highly engaged interdisciplinary team members can contribute to optimal patient outcomes and growth professionally.

We maintain clinical expertise and knowledge to provide direct care as a key component of our role.

Our job responsibility involves supporting the nurse manager's implementation of the strategic plan by effective communication with all team members.

We are actively involved in interviewing, hiring, coaching, and counseling staff. We develop and sustain relationships with team members, patients, and families centered on trust, respect, and inclusion.

We uphold Culture of C.A.R.E., Northwell Health's promise to our patients and families, to create a culture of connectedness, awareness, respect, and empathy.

We perform day-to-day staffing and resources planning and reconciliation for the shift under our oversight and explain and mitigate variances.

We perform related duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State is required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 4-6 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience are required.
