Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Education Officer: Children. This is a new role that will play a vital part in developing and delivering our education programme for children and young people outside of formal education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a balanced, responsive, inclusive and sustainable programme for children and young people, comprising regular, flexible activities and new opportunities for babies, early years, children, families and young people to engage with us, onsite, offsite and online.

  • Establish a programme for children and young people, including regular activities and new opportunities.
  • Deliver current programmes, projects and initiatives, coordinating facilitators, practitioners, organisations, contractors, groups and guides.
  • Review and assess existing projects to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Research and develop new initiatives, responding to the needs of children and young people in Ireland, barriers to accessing the arts, and relevant research and practice in art and museum education.

This role will work closely with the Education Team and other departments to deliver high-quality educational experiences for children and young people. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences across multiple channels.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A third level qualification in Art Education, Youth Work, Early Years Education or a similar discipline, OR demonstrable experience pertinent to the role.
  • Demonstrably committed to inclusively engaging children and young people with Arts, Heritage and Museums, with a strong commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences across multiple channels.
