GP Training Scheme Director

The Leader of Educational Delivery in General Practice is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of high-quality educational programs for specialist training in general practice.

  1. Main Responsibilities:
  2. Manage and coordinate educational activities, delegating duties as necessary to support staff.
  3. Collaborate with National and Regional Training Directors to ensure regional training coordination.
  4. Promote quality and consistency in GP training, contributing actively to national efforts.
  5. Foster partnerships with the wider general practitioner community and local primary care management to ensure administrative support and resources.
  6. Liaise with GP Trainers to provide adequate educational and organisational support.
  7. Lead educational planning and scheduling in conjunction with the national program.
  8. Oversee trainee performance, attendance, discipline, and support issues, escalating matters to the Advisory Committee when necessary.
  9. Manage budgetary matters related to the scheme.
Assistant Scheme Director Key Responsibilities
  • Teach, assess, and facilitate small-group sessions with trainees, promoting reflective practice and professionalism.
  • Assist in curriculum planning, developing teaching materials, and delivering curriculum content through small group and plenary teaching.
  • Provide personal support, mentorship, and trainee assessments, offering formative and summative feedback.
