Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our finance team in the private equity backed sustainable sector operating globally. This role ensures efficient compliance with tax regulations, optimizes tax strategies, and supports global business operations through effective tax planning. You will support integration efforts and develop a truly global tax team. You will bring understanding of corporate tax, indirect taxes, and international tax matters relevant to a global manufacturing business.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax advisory support for business initiatives, including financing, mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
  • Collaborate with treasury, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure tax-efficient practices.
  • Manage and oversee aspects of corporate tax compliance, income tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes. Pioneer automation strategies across the tax process.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with existing and emerging local and international tax laws. Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities as needed.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business. Lead tax audits (proactive prevention) and manage disputes or inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or professional qualification advantageous.
  • Minimum 7-10 years relevant tax experience, ideally industry and advisory firm time.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax regulations, debt financing or indirect taxes experience welcomed. Canadian and US tax experience useful.
  • Experience with ERP systems and tax software, tax automation projects.
  • Proven track record of managing tax compliance and audits.
