Home Care Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team. As a Home Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and a genuine passion for working with individuals who require support with daily living tasks. You will work closely with our clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each individual receives the highest level of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Assist with meal preparation and household chores
  • Support clients with mobility issues, such as transferring them from bed to chair or assisting with walking
  • Engage in conversation and social activities with clients to combat loneliness and isolation
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 5 QQI Healthcare qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in providing care in the home
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
