Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team on the ADAPT project. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on the assessment of biogas production in food processing residues.

About the Project

The ADAPT project aims to develop innovative technologies for the production of renewable advanced fuels in circular economy systems. The project focuses on the analysis and conversion of various feedstocks, including agricultural residues, lignocellulosic crops, macro-algae (seaweed), and micro-algae.

The research covers biological and thermochemical bioenergy pathways, with a focus on producing biohydrogen and biomethane. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to achieve the project's goals and contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Operation and monitoring of 500mL batch laboratory scale anaerobic digesters (AMPTS-II system).
  • Operation and monitoring of 5L laboratory scale continuously stirred tank reactors.
  • Operation and monitoring of a laboratory scale up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have a strong background in a relevant field, such as biology, chemistry, or environmental science. You should also have experience with laboratory equipment and data analysis software.
