Loan Originator Position

Job Summary:

The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for originating loan products and developing internal and external referral sources to generate new mortgage lending business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview applicants and request specific information for mortgage loan application.
  • Act as primary contact with all parties on individual loans originated from application to closing.
  • Counsel and pre-qualify potential home buyers.
  • Complete applications and obtain all necessary support documents.
  • Oversee loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms.
  • Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan.
  • Collaborate with underwriting to resolve mortgage related problems.
  • Submit loan package to operations department and assist loan processor in loan approval.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with minimum 1-3 years of residential real estate experience.
  • NMLS license or in the process of obtaining one.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills.
