Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description:

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met at our site. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the attainment and maintenance of ISO9001 certification for the Shannon PPG site.

You will work closely with other departments to develop and implement effective Quality Management Systems (QMS) that meet industry standards. This includes developing key performance indicators and process metrics to measure the performance of the QMS.

Additionally, you will review the effectiveness of the QMS by monitoring and reporting on trends. You will also engage with the business to react to any trends if and when they occur.

To ensure issues are escalated and addressed in a timely manner, you will need to work collaboratively with the team to maintain ongoing business operations and operational quality performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attain and maintain ISO9001 certification for the Shannon PPG site
  • Develop and implement effective Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Review and approve analytical results for batch release
  • Monitor and report to ensure all quality systems are implemented consistently across the site
  • Support the development of quality process metrics, review metric performance, highlight trends & signals and formally report findings to ensure issues are actioned and addressed as per procedural requirements
  • Identify, implement and support continuous improvement within the Q&TS department and wider business
  • Become QMS Subject Matter Experts (SME) and support the business as a SME in these areas as required
  • Write, review and approve a range of quality documents for example policies, procedures, work instructions etc.
  • Provide QA support in Quality Risk Management within the wider business
  • Communicate effectively with other employees and participate with them in day-to-day activities, planning and problem-solving activities as required
  • Support Deviation investigation, CAPA system/complaints/Customer audit responses

Requirements:

  • Science based qualification with 2+ years Chemical or Pharmaceutical quality assurance experience is preferred
  • Technical knowledge of production processes and operations and experience working within an established Quality System in a Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry setting would be an advantage
  • Experience with the generation, execution and review of quality documents in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing and/or packaging facility is desirable
