We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Accommodation Manager to join our team at Hodson Bay Hotel. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Reporting to the Deputy General Manager, you will lead and support a great team to ensure our guests receive a warm and efficient welcome for every stay. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accommodation department, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
You will work closely with the Accommodation Manager to implement effective cleaning schedules, train staff on cleaning techniques and products, and maintain the overall appearance of the hotel. Additionally, you will handle guest concerns and complaints promptly and efficiently, ensuring that our guests feel valued and satisfied throughout their stay.
To succeed in this role, you must possess strong leadership and team management skills, excellent attention to detail, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You should also have knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment, as well as familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assigning daily work duties and cleaning lists to Accommodation Assistants/Porters.
- Providing continuous training and development opportunities for Accommodation staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Performing regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to uphold cleanliness, organization, and adherence to hotel standards.
- Documenting and addressing any maintenance defects or other issues and ensuring follow-up actions are taken.
- Overseeing the execution of deep cleaning programs, as well as reporting and follow-up on maintenance matters.
- Ensuring all rooms & Front of House areas are always maintained and cleaned to the highest standard.
- Collaborating closely with the front office, Reservations, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
- Handling guest concerns and complaints promptly and efficiently.
- Ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitoring and managing the inventory of cleaning supplies and amenities.
- Implement and promote eco-friendly practices and initiatives within the Accommodation department.
