Health, Safety and Environmental Lead

This position is responsible for leading the health, safety, and environmental aspects of a large-scale pharmaceutical construction project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety with at least 10 years of experience in the construction sector. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental management plans and identifying potential hazards on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and taking corrective action as necessary
  • Providing training and guidance to contractors and other site personnel on health and safety best practices
  • Coordinating with the construction superintendent and EHS team to review contractors' method statements and provide feedback
  • Participating in weekly safety audits and coordination meetings

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated or very strong trades background in H&S
  • At least 10 years' experience in the Construction Sector on live sites
  • Significant supervision experience
  • Mission Critical or Life Science projects essential
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills essential
