Trade Operations Specialist

The position will be responsible for day-to-day activities ensuring all trade confirmation and settlement processes, reporting, and inquiry responses are completed timely and accurately.

The role requires a solid understanding of the organizational structure, information flow, internal systems, and good industry knowledge pertaining to trading and settlement of equity, fixed income, and foreign currency exchanges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor transactional confirmations, fails resolution, escrow activity and settlement.
  • Communicate issues and take initiative to proactively resolve and prevent problems.
  • Perform market-specific processes to ensure confirmation and settlement in challenging foreign markets.
  • Collaborate with Trading Desks, Brokers, Custodian Banks, and other partners to manage operational risk and efficiency.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on projects and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3-5 years of financial services experience preferably with exposure to Custody Operations and/or Trade/Fixed Income Life Cycle management.
  • 2 years of experience in Trade Life Cycle, Settlements or Fails; FX experience is an advantage.
  • Operational knowledge in FX and Fixed Income settlements.
  • Detailed knowledge of market settlement practices.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; working knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong data analytical skills with ability to identify high-risk items and escalate as needed.
