Senior Staff Process Optimisation Engineer

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Process Optimisation Engineer to provide technical leadership in our Stryker facility across multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will possess and apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization and deliver complex assignments.

The ideal candidate will have management skills to manage multiple significant Engineering projects through PMO, provide technical leadership from an engineering perspective, continuously improve the performance of the process, engage in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing, interface with Materials Science, Design, and Quality Assurance departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities include driving process troubleshooting with support team members and external agents, structured problem-solving ability, providing development and guidance for assigned Co-op /Technician, Operators, and Engineers, leading FMEA's, reviewing and supporting the development of FDS, SDS, equipment manuals, etc., defining and monitoring quality metrics and KPIs to ensure the process is robust, and owning requirements and design reviews to provide input from a testability perspective.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work as part of a cross-functional team to ensure system integration is considered on all systems, collaborate with other engineers, QA, and Ops to embed testing into the development and validation, lead analysis of issues that arise, identify root causes of failures, and ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent technical experience
  • Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business critical projects
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents
  • Capable of providing technical leadership and influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Co-op Students, Technicians, and Operators as required
  • Demonstrable strong analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work autonomously
  • A team player, with a flexible approach
  • Technological expert, willing to source, investigate, and implement technological advances
  • Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others
