Job Overview We're seeking a skilled Software Automation Specialist to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that drive laboratory automation workflows. You'll collaborate with scientists, engineers, and IT professionals to integrate robotic systems, laboratory instruments, and data management platforms, enabling high-throughput and reproducible experimentation.

The ideal candidate will have experience with software development in a laboratory or scientific environment, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java, and familiarity with laboratory automation platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement software to control laboratory automation systems
  • Collaborate with current vendors regarding software updates
  • Develop APIs and middleware to integrate instruments with LIMS and data pipelines
  • Collaborate with scientists and lab staff to understand workflow requirements and translate them into scalable automation solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Troubleshoot and debug hardware-software integration issues
  • Implement scheduling and orchestration systems for automated workflows
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards where applicable
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a laboratory or scientific environment
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation platforms
