Job Title

A senior cost consultant will play a critical role in supporting project leaders in delivering high-quality service delivery and achieving successful outcomes for clients.

Core duties include:

  1. Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to clients
  2. Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments
  3. Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  4. Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
  5. Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
  6. Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  7. Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects
  8. Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  1. BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
  2. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  3. Public Sector or Private commercial sector experience – ideally experience gained from some of the following: healthcare, offices, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit out and refurb
  4. Proficient CostX or other Cost Planning software
  5. Sustainability and Data Skills i.e. carbon assessment and Power BI
  6. Pre and post-contract experience
  7. Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  8. Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  9. A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
