This is a challenging role as an Assistant Care Manager. It involves working with individuals in their homes, providing essential care and support to enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To conduct spot checks on healthcare assistants in the community.
  • To review client care plans and ensure they are receiving the necessary support.
  • To communicate effectively with the Quality and Compliance team regarding HIQA and incident management.
  • To build relationships with the HSE and facilitate collaboration.
  • To introduce new staff members and oversee staff shadowing.
  • To respond to emergencies and implement changes as needed.
  • To monitor and evaluate the quality of care delivered to clients.
  • To contribute to care team development and provide support where required.
  • To collect journal notes from clients' houses and deliver care plans, log sheets, and gloves as necessary.
Office Responsibilities:
  • To update online system documentation, including reviews and spot checks.
  • To plan and schedule reviews, confirming appointments with clients and their families.
  • To establish a system for completing spot checks with healthcare staff.
  • To maintain accurate filing systems.
  • To assist support coordinators with urgent tasks when needed.
  • To attend regular team check-ins.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in health or social care.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in healthcare.
  • Full QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support.
  • Level 6 in Supervisory Management.
  • Availability to work alternative weekends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A full clean driving license and access to a car.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and empathetic approach to people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
