Logistics professionals play a vital role in the supply chain, ensuring that goods reach their destinations safely and efficiently. We are seeking experienced HGV Drivers to join our team and contribute to this critical infrastructure.

Job Overview

As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles from depot to loading/unloading point in accordance with delivery schedules. You will deliver chilled, produce, and ambient products to customers' premises, accurately recording all activities in line with legislation and company requirements.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Driving Heavy Goods Vehicles from depot to loading/unloading point in accordance with delivery schedule
  • Delivering chilled, produce, and ambient products to all customers' premises
  • Accurately recording all activities in line with legislation and company requirements
  • Ensuring all delivery notes are signed upon delivery
  • Adhering to road transport regulations
  • Working within the remits of the European Drivers Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive
  • Ensuring all loads are strapped down adequately
  • Checking tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water, and fuel levels and general condition of the vehicle
  • Agreeing delivery schedules and routes with transport management
  • Assisting with loading/unloading and ensuring that loads are evenly distributed and safely secured
  • Maintaining records of journey times, mileage, and hours worked via Tachograph
  • Undertaking minor repairs and notifying supervisors of any mechanical faults
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must hold a full HGV Class 1 Licence, have a valid Taco Card and CPC Card, and be at least 25 years old. Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic are also essential.
